DOI: 10.3791/57722-v
What you'll learn
✓Operate a portable autoRAD lab-on-valve system for radiometric analysis
✓Perform automated 90Sr separation and preconcentration from aqueous samples
✓Interpret radiometric detection results at ppq-level sensitivity
✓Execute system cleaning and resin loading protocols for radioactive assays
Protocol
Here, we present the portable autoRAD platform for quick radiometric separation and determination of 90Sr, an important fission product highly pertinent to nuclear waste.
Difficulty
advanced
Total time
~3–4 hours per sample batch (including system prep, loading, and detection)
Biosafety
BSL-2
Steps
1
Prepare and clean lab-on-valve system
Execute system preparation and cleaning procedures to prepare the portable autoRAD platform for radiometric analysis. This includes fluidic line flushing and component decontamination.
